Isamu Noguchi Exhibition

September 23, 1952 - October 19, 1952
Primary Venue
Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura
Artworks included are a result of nearly a full year that Noguchi spent at a farmhouse at the invitation of Rosanjin Kitaoji, an arrangement that allowed him full access to the potter's materials and kiln, and a prolific period in which Noguchi produced over 120 works, ranging from small clay and plaster studies, to sustained investigations into Bizen, Oribe and Agi stoneware traditions. An adjoining room of his new Akari designs was also included (model numbers not included in this checklist).
